Limitations of Eye Protection

Limitations of Eye Protection

  • One drawback – wearer may be lulled into a false sense of security, rather than becoming even more alert to hazards.
  • As equipment ages, or if it is not properly maintained, it may lose some of its protective ability.
  • Even well-designed eye protection may tend to restrict vision somewhat. This makes it all the more important that work areas are well-lit and ventilated to allow you to see your work more clearly.
  • Eye protection must not be removed even though it might feel cumbersome.
  • In order for PPE to be effective, it must be comfortable, and it must be worn.
