Inspection and maintenance is an important consideration when wearing eye protection.
Continuous vision through dirty lenses causes strain and can become an excuse for not wearing eye protection.
Pitted, cracked, scratched or broken lenses reduce vision, lead to disuse, and tend to break more easily.
Inspect for damage – look for knotted, twisted, worn, or stretched goggle straps – look for pitted or scratched lenses or face shield windows.
Dispose of and replace damaged PPE.
Clean lenses with water plus soap or mild detergent.
Disinfect if contaminated by chemicals or if used by others.
Store in the proper place or in a closed container.
